Neighbourhood LAB is an artist development program that fortifies an artist-driven framework to support research and practice for a regionally-based artistic cohort.

The Neighbourhood LAB program returns in 2024 co-presented with the G21 Making Change Strategy extending artist support and sustainability across the G21 region.

Six artists in residence across the G21 region collectively explore and interrogate the key challenges and enablers of maintaining a regional arts practice. Through facilitated monthly gatherings, guest artists and practitioners will lead an in-depth, artist-driven program that aims to foster contemporary practice in regional communities.

Neighbourhood LAB is supported by Next Wave in partnership with the Centre for Reworlding, Rogue Academy and Public Assembly. Artists in residence will gather monthly at Platform Arts in Djilang/Geelong partner spaces and are supported to develop new networks across the region, enrich their practice and contribute to national and global discourse.
